Every morning around 6:30 my feet hit the sand and I have arrived at my happy place. It is my ritual, my "Zen" moment, my joy...my way to start my day right, to set my intention for the day.
We all need rituals that sustain us, keep us going and moving forward. I LOVE rituals and believe that it is very important for us to not put those things on the back burner that energize us or relax us... or remind us what we are all about. For the emotional eater, food and eating have proven to be reliable stress or boredom relievers. I invite you today to try and incorporate new healthy rituals: To dance to one song a day, to start writing in your journal or to go for a short walk before going to bed. Whatever makes YOU feel good, do it!
So, next time you reach for food when you are not physically hungry and are hoping to change your mood by eating, do something different, even if it is only for a few minutes.
